Ethereum Classic gets Listing on Robinhood

Earlier today, cryptocurrency exchange Robinhood announced in a blog post that it would begin listing Ethereum Classic (ETC). Ethereum Classic is currently #11 on coinmarketcap.com, and it has seen a rise of 10% since the news.

Robinhood is a $5.6 billion firm that is currently available in 19 states. Their post wrote, “You can also invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Dogecoin, as well as track market data for 10 other cryptocurrencies”.

Ethereum Classic is also expected to be released on Coinbase tomorrow, after it’s acceptance was announced in June. Not all coinbase users will be able to trade this asset right away. Ethereum Classic trading will be opened up initially to users of Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime, and no customers will be able to trade in ETC immediately.

Robinhood has been making strides to expand its growth and catch up to Coinbase, the undisputed giant of crypto exchanges. Earlier this June, Robinhood announced that it was working on creating its own cryptocurrency wallet, which is a feature that Coinbase has had for awhile. Robinhood already offers more currency trading options than Coinbase with the option of trading Dogecoin (DOGE).

Getting listed by Coinbase is a time of celebration for the investors of any cryptocurrency. Coinbase is the most direct link that crypto has to a mainstream audience. On the other hand, Robinhood is a highly ambitious, up and coming trading platform that is sure to keep growing. Ethereum Classic is getting the benefits of both worlds, and this news should ensure a very bright future for the currency.
