Today we feature our recent interview with Paul McNeal. Paul is “The Crypto Curator.” Aware and involved with Bitcoin since 2011, he’s spent the last 7 years learning and connecting with those in the Bitcoin space to better inform others about the space. He also enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs through The Next Gen Summit.

  1. When and how did you first get involved in Bitcoin?

While browsing around on my favorite social media platform Twitter in 2011, I came across either a tweet to an article or just a tweet about Satoshi Nakamoto and the white paper. I read it and it intrigued me to take the red pill to see how far the rabbit hole would go. Here is what I believe is my first post on FB about it.

Paul McNeal July 22, 2011 ·- Who wants a Bitcoin?
  1. What do you see as the biggest short-term obstacle to Bitcoin?

If by short-term you mean this year in 2018 I am not sure what can be considered the biggest.  However, one of the nearer obstacles will be regulation. The regulatory environment (globally) is very immature and while the US is taking a cautionary approach other countries are attempting to put in more stringent policies such as banning.

Another obstacle is making bitcoin and blockchain technology user-friendly; just like email is for the most part. Lastly, the internal strife among the crypto community is another that must get resolved. The disputes between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash need to get resolved. The constant attacks are not glamorous or necessary; the pie is big enough for all to benefit.

  1. The past couple weeks have been tough regarding market cap growth, based on your past experience, how have you viewed this pull back? Are you worried?

I am not worried. I believe this pull back presents an opportunity for those who might have been concerned that bitcoin was outside of their buying capability. That said – anytime is a great time to buy bitcoin because you are not required to buy 1 BTC you can buy fractions until you have 1 BTC or more.

  1. What is your biggest regret since getting involved in cryptocurrencies?

That I didn’t communicate more strongly to people the importance of being aware of and to take action as it relates to Bitcoin. It’s why I have recently launched www.thecryptocurator.com.

  1. If you had the platform to give one piece of advice regarding Bitcoin, altcoins, or blockchain to the entire world, what would you say?

There is a Technological Tsunami headed toward the planet and Bitcoin is the distributed censorship resistant technology that can provide you a solid foundation. If you want to change the financial trajectory of your life, learn all you can about Bitcoin and then take the required action that is right for you.
