Yep, unless you’ve spent the last decade under a rock you certainly recognized that name in the title. John Mcafee, creator of the first commercial antivirus software, has made some bold cryptocurrency predictions in the past, but none close to this.
About four months ago, Mcafee predicted Bitcoin would reach $5,000 by the end of 2017. BTC was fluctuating around the $3000 range at the time. The same model he used to make that prediction had Bitcoin reaching $500,000 by the end of 2020.
On November 29, 2017, he has issued a public statement adjusting his projection…
While his tweet has a bit less of the “shock factor” this time around, it has over 5000 retweets and is closing in on 1000 comments.
When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017. BTC has accelerated much faster than my model assumptions. I now predict Bircoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong. pic.twitter.com/WVx3E71nyD

For those of you wondering why a former United States Presidential hopeful is tweeting about eating his dick, let me go ahead and include his previous tweet from the day below.

Aside from the fact that we probably shouldn’t be listening to someone whose original model was off by over 100% within a four-month projection period, forget a three-year projection, am I the only one that wants to see Bitcoin stop at $999,999 at the end of 2020?
